Cafe Scientifique |
The warm, indoor venue of the Fox and Feather offers urban sketchers an opportunity to sketch indoor settings with people. These sorts of scenes can feel overwhelming and it's a great opportunity to practice quick, fluid lines, and start drawing
fearlessly with a sense of play!
For some tips and suggestions:
And while you are practicing quick, fluid sketching, you can also learn about birds and how to design in a way that reduces bird collisions from Safe Wings Ottawa!

Café Scientifique
Café Scientifique ( an initiative of The Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society - Ottawa Chapter) is an informal gathering of people to discuss current science, conservation and environmental issues that affect our communities. On the second Monday of each month, they meet to discuss different topics related to biology, conservation, wilderness and our place in the environment.
Safe Wings Ottawa
Safe Wings Ottawa is an initiative of the Ottawa Field-Naturalists’ Club that aims to reduce bird mortality from window collisions through research, prevention and rescue.
Their mission is to learn more about the extent of the problem in Ottawa, to raise awareness about the causes of window strikes, and to encourage effective solutions.
CPAWS - OV
The Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society - Ottawa Chapter (CPAWS-OV) is Canada’s
pre-eminent, national community-based voice for public wilderness
protection. The Ottawa Valley Chapter of CPAWS (CPAWS-OV) works to
protect public lands in the National Capital Region and surrounding
areas. Established in 1970 when a group of concerned citizens learned
about major development plans for Gatineau Park, the Chapter has since
become involved in many issues of wilderness protection in Eastern
Ontario and Western Quebec.
