The Ottawa Urban Sketchers enjoyed a great day sketching at the National Art Centre (NAC)! There were lots of familiar faces and lots of new faces as well. We had one urban sketcher from Spain join us and an art teacher joined us with several of her students.
Special thanks to Nadine who suggested this sketch venue and date when we were
sketching at the WW SketchCrawl #61 in the Byward Market (Oct. 20)
Thank you to EVERYONE who came out to join us !!

We would like to also thank the NAC staff for all of their assistance and for being so incredibly welcoming. This great space is one that many sketchers said they would love to visit again!
The views from the second floor were incredible for sketching. This video below shows the view facing east towards the canal.
Here are some more sketches and videos from our day.
There were so many different places to sit and sketch. I tried to get a photo of everyone and I'm sorry if I missed anyone.
The video below shows the view looking north at the top of the staircase

I did a quick sketch of the FREE event with Canadian poet and novelist, Joy Kogawa, and Indigenous composer, Ian Cusson, in conversation with CBC’s Adrian Harewood
that was happening while we were sketching
At the end of the day, the sketchers who stayed to the end gathered for a show and tell (voluntary) and then a group photo.
